The Guv thinks he's the baby Pope. He also thinks he was elected to be the state's preacher.
He also believes in sky fairies.
Front page of yesterday's paper shows the Guv in a posture similar to Pope Benny. Today's edition shows the Guv reflecting on the role of god in Kansas and across America during the ReignDown USA worship event, which I dub the freedom to remain ignorant day.
Sam Brownback brightest bulb in the chandelier. When the history of his term is written, it will be up to historian to decide if he has Jesus up his ass, or the pope, or Rick Perry; perhaps all three.
The Guv has brought religion into the public sphere. He says he represents family values, but that is only the values he thinks important. He doesn't represent - in fact he fights against - values that he doesn't approve us. That isn't governance. His policies have hurt old people, children. the constitutions of Kansas and the United States.
The man should be recalled for deriliction of duty, but this is Kansas. He's probably going to have evet baptist, methodist, lutheran, and catholic crusdaing to have him made a living saint.
Kansas is momentary being dismantled by this man. Fortunately, history has the pendulum's talent of swinging back to help right the wrongs done to us by bigoted zealots such as Sam Brownback.
Sammy isn't the only religious nut job in Kansas. We have Fred Phelps and his small group. I don't agree with a single think Fred Phelps says or stands for - except, I defend his freedom to say what he says. Most people don't listen the the rantings of old Fred. They do, however, listen to the likes of the reverend-pope Sammy the First. Sammy can fuck with people's lives, and has. Sammy is a dangerous man, a demagogue who appeals the the fears and ignorance of the masses.
